Through the years, our dinner has been instrumental in linking many youth to transitional living programs, educational services, emotional support and job training thanks to our partnerships with local service providers. Many of our youth have gone on to successfully complete rehabilitation programs, find employment, and enroll in Community Colleges. Together, we've gotten them off the streets helped them live healthy and successful lives.
This year we are marking our landmark 15th anniversary of "The Big Feast" on Sunday, November 19, 2017 for Homeless LGBT Youth in Hollywood.
Since we receive no grants or major sources of funding, this is a full grassroots effort and as such we are reaching out to our community's members and businesses to help us continue our mission this holiday season.
All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and all funds raised will go directly towards event-related expenses. Our goal is to raise $10,000.
We have fed & empowered
over 4,000 LGBT Homeless Youth
at our annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner.
57% of homeless kids spend at least one day every month without food. For one special evening, we provide these teens with a warm meal, a dance, community resources, accessto transitional living programs, free HIV Testing, and raffle prizes in a safe environment that is alcohol & tobacco-free.
In an effort to expand our work and better serve our young attendees, we regularly partner with several community organizations, foster care programs, and local service providers. City Officials who have attended and supported our work consist of L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Councilmembers Mitch O'Farrell (CD 13) & David Ryu (CD 4), as well as several West Hollywood City Officials and Representatives.
